Applications for the 2017 SA Hoporee have now closed.

Eligibility for the 2017 SA Hoporee

Joey Scouts

Must be a registered Joey Scout member at the time of application and have a valid membership number to complete the application form.
Must be no older than 8 years and 1 month as at 21 November 2017 unless written exemption is obtained from the Branch Commissioner Joey Scouts.
Must obtain consent from parents/guardians.
Must obtain approval from their Joey Scout Leader and Group Leader/Parent/Caregiver.
Must have a parent/guardian accompanying them during the course of the event.

Parent/Caregiver

There is no requirement to be a registered member of Scouts SA or undertake the police check, unless considered a regular helper as per Branch Safety Standards and Procedures.

Leaders

Must hold a Certificate of Adult Membership.
Must have a valid membership number to complete the application form.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts are not eligible to attend the 2017 SA Hoporee.

Scouts

Scouts can only attend the 2017 SA Hoporee if they have a specified role and the approval of the relevant Activity or designated manager. It would be prudent to obtain this approval before making an application to avoid disappointment.
Must be a registered Scout Section member at the time of application and have a valid membership number to complete the application form.
Must obtain consent from parents/guardians.
Must obtain approval from their Scout Leader and Group Leader.

Venturer Scouts

Must be a registered Venturer Scout member at the time of application, and have a valid membership number to complete the application form.
Must obtain consent from parents/guardians.
Must obtain approval from their Venturer Leader and Group Leader.

Rover Scouts

Must be a registered Rover at the time of application and have a valid membership number to complete the application form.

All applicants understand the Scout Promise and Law and agree to abide by the rules of the 2017 SA Hoporee.

Cost

Joey Scout - $70

Parent - $60

Leader - $50

Activity Leader - $20

Please note that Activity Leaders will be assigned in the application system only after they have been approved by a relevant Activity Manager.

Application System for 2017 SA Hoporee

The application system used for this event is the standard one used for all major State and National events.

The application is a simple four-step process:

1. Complete the online application by entering the required information in all tabs.

2. Print the document once you have submitted.

3. Obtain the required signatures required (detailed at the time of submission).

4. Pass the form, with payment, on to your Joey Leader (or other Section Leader or Commissioner as appropriate) as soon as possible for approval.

Check with your Scout Group regarding payment options available. Completed forms and payments must be submitted to your Group by 22 September 2017. NO EXTENSIONS will be granted.
